Railway vehicles have a long life. Numerous old vehicles were converted into service vehicles once they were no longer needed for passenger service. Built in 1908 as a third class carriage, our WR3 361 was rebuilt as a dining car, which is how it worked until 1986, when we rescued it. Before this rebuilding, the air brake fittings were removed in order to reduce weight and maintenance costs. Other similar vehicles received new welded steel bodywork and today are still in service. During the winter of 1995 Monsieur Georges-Andre Fatton renewed the interior, embellishing it with wallpaper, mirrors, small table lamps etc…making this dining car an authentic carriage.
The small compartment , after removal of the bottle rack and the cupboard, receives the ticket office from the Traclet-Bar.
